ArchLUG KwikiReviewsArchLUG Kwiki ReviewsFrom time to time, ArchLUG will sponsor a review of a distribution by a local member on a short-term timetable.
Hence, an ArchLUG KwikiReview. As an incentive to submit a review, ArchLUG may decide to offer a token of our appreciation (e.g. a licened copy of the distribution being reviewed) after the reviewer completes a successful review acceptance process. The review acceptance process is a simple yes/no self-serve voting mechanism (i.e. a page on the ArchLUG Kwiki where you can edit the vote counts to "cast" your vote). We also encourage non-sponsored submissions of reviews. Non-sponsored reviews are reviews that otherwise do not qualify for the goodies ArchLUG gives to the reviewer after a successful review acceptance process. This might be due to a prospective reviewer wanting someone else to have the chance to receive our incentive (e.g. they already have the distribution under review). A multi-part review series of several Debian-based distributions from OSNews (http://www.osnews.com/): Important Copyright information about review submissions By submitting a review to ArchLUG, we consider authors to retain their copyright interest in the submitted review, and to grant to ArchLUG a non-exclusive right to publish the review (and derived works) in any format within the context of ArchLUG publications, including, but not limited to the ArchLUG website, ArchLUG Kwiki, forums, physical and electronic mail, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and off-line viewable archives. We don't want to prevent you from using/selling your review to other publications, and we also don't want to have to require ourselves to contact you for a new license or approval from you every time we change our page layout or someone comments on, adapts, or otherwise edits your review. This can be quite a burdensome task in this age of 95+ year copyrights, even barring future "Disney Copyright Extension Acts" by our good 'ole Congress. |
