Convincing others to switch to Firefox over Microsoft IE
Always open install the 'open with IE' Add-On
Then when your friend/customer/relative says that some site doesn't work (using Firefox), tell them that the site is broken, AND might not be secured.
- Explain that they can still get to the broken/insecure site by clicking the "Open with IE" button, but they should know that by doing so, they "might break their computer if they do".
- Explain the IE does not tell you when a site is broken or insecure.
- Make a face, and tell them that ... "Well, ... Walmart (or whatever) MIGHT be safe.
- Explain that you are surprised that the popular store of a well-known company would have an insecure, broken site.
- If you are asked about the instructions to use IE on the website, then ask your friend/customer/relative ...
- If a site really is insecure and broken, why would the "Bad People" provide instructions to stop their evil intentions for your computer or bank account?
This has the following effects:
- They do not immediately switch back to IE, as is often instructed by the site.
- It places the blame for the broken site on the proper entity -- the site owner.
- They learn to avoid sites that are IE only, and to perceive them as dangerous and broken.
- They can still go to the sites that are IE only if it is really important to them.
If it is a site that they are going to go to anyway, you can set the plug in to automatically load in IE, and if appropriate, discuss with them the above warnings and that you've bypassed them for their convenience.

Deleting web form auto-complete (or auto-fill) entries
Problem:
- You want to remove or fix the choices in the auto-complete forms for searches, passwords, and bank numbers.
Solution:
- Firefox is different that Internet Explorer, and won't let you just highlighted and hit delete. In Firefox you just highlight the information in the list with your mouse and press SHIFT+DELETE. (i.e. pressing the SHIFT and DELETE keys at the same time).
