I first wrote the NewsPlugin used on our NewsFeeds page. I then added the following KwikiKwiki : KwikiPatches and KwikiKwiki : KwikiEnhancements:

The IRC channel is logged, including your IP address, and posted in read-only form to the kwiki.org website.

I do not join the IRC, nor do I suggest you do so either. I find the unannounced logging and subsequent public posting of the unedited logs (including your IP address) on kwiki.org is a bit too invasive for my privacy tastes. Because one member's (of kwiki.org) lack of concern for this issue by his enforced restoration of such information removed by the author for privacy concerns is enough to convince me not to post. Ever. It is interesting to note that this same fan of unedited public IRC logs does not post his own IP address information to the channel and uses an alias (that is not his username on the kwiki.org site) to further mask his identity. Apparently, he believes that no one else is deserving of the anonymity and privacy that he grants to himself.

Some things to look for that I'm writing now:

Add regular bracket linking for a RemoteWikiLink

KwikiKwiki : PatchFormatHeaders

A formatting patch to allow formatting within headers.
I will probably not implement links in headers. If you need a link on a heading, you probably need to refactor the whole section to its own page.

RemoteWikiSearchURL

Enhancement to RemoteWikiURLs.
Add support to limiting searching to only those pages with the search prefix in them

RemoteWikiAlias

Enhancement to RemoteWikiURLs.
Eliminates singular/plural wikiname problems.

KwikiOfflineSlideShow

Allows anyone to email a presentation or to give it where no internet access is available.
a new action (?) cgi that would do something like the following:
Generate the slideshow pages,
Fetch any attachments (images),
Convert everything to relative links,
Package it all up as a single ZIP archive that is returned for the user to do a "Save As ..." operation with their browser.
I picked ZIP, since many Windows users are not familiar with using tar plus bzip2 or gzip compression.
Perhaps cache the presentation for subsequent downloads.
The cache would be invalidated if the slide show page mod time were later than the timestamp on the archive.

Search Enhancements

Bold term hits in page names in the search results (or separate list first)

When doing a search, the resulting list includes pages that have the term in the page name itself (eg. a search for 'wiki' finds ArchLUG Kwiki), along with many pages that only contain the term in the page content.

Launch search pages into new browser window (target=_blank)

More Page Properties! (Categories?)
